The Case of the Disappearing Cheap Nickel-free Earrings

Dear H&M,

I am disheartened and baffled by the recent changes you've made with your jewelry department. I know I've already complained about the sad state of affairs for fashionistas with nickel allergy but since it is not apparent that you are aware of our predicament, I ask you to revisit your decision to drop nickel-free earrings from your inventory.

There was a time when we could walk into any one of your numerous locations and purchase all the shiny, dangly baubles to our hearts' content. But I see that those happy days for our sensitive ears are over. Quantities of cheerfully cheap, trendy earrings on which we depended heavily to complete our outfits are still available but they no longer read "nickel-tested" on the label.

I am not ignorant of the rising metal prices, nor am I unsympathetic to your profit-driven goals. However, I question your decision to suffer the quality of your goods instead of making price adjustments, and therefore, cold-shouldering the welfare of those in need of nickel-free adornments.  Please kindly reconsider.

Sincerely,

Bare earlobes
Nickel-free earrings have become a rarity at H&M.

  1. I agree 100% and I am pretty sure theres a lot of other people that feel this way. This store use to be my go to store for nickel free jewelry, but lately I notice that there is no nickel free jewelry anymore.I am very sadden by this considering I am extremely allergic, wish there was another store I could go to.
